The WORD test charts whether a person has basic or advanced knowledge of the word processing programme ®MS Word. The test questions aspects of Word’s basic functions, such as underlining a text, centring a paragraph, and also goes into more advanced knowledge such as inserting a section break, using templates and knowledge of popular keyboard shortcuts.

In the WORD test, candidates must know, via multiple-choice questions, the function of a button or element in ®MS Word and be able to indicate which functions allow them to perform the requested actions).

The WORD test is important for jobs involving a lot of text processing. This applies to most office jobs: administrative jobs, policy jobs, research jobs and commercial jobs.

The EXLT test examines how well a person knows the functions, options and features of a spreadsheet programme such as ®MS Excel. The test questions aspects of basic knowledge such as graphing, knowledge of tables (e.g. sorting, filtering) and knowledge of formulas (such as sum, difference, average, conditional formulas).

In the EXLT test, candidates must be able to name the function of an icon or element of ®MS Excel via multiple-choice questions. They should also be able to indicate which Excel functions allow to perform certain actions.

The EXLT test is important for jobs that require using the computer to process data, perform calculations on it and present the results clearly. This includes administrative jobs, research jobs and some commercial jobs.

The POWER test charts a person’s level of knowledge of the presentation programme ®MS PowerPoint. The test measures aspects of basic knowledge such as using animations and themes, and also goes into more advanced features of the programme such as SmartArt charts and adding sound clips.

In the POWER test, candidates must be able to name the function of an icon or element of ®MS PowerPoint via multiple-choice questions. They should also be able to indicate which PowerPoint functions allow them to perform certain actions.

The POWER test is important for jobs that often require giving presentations or preparing others’ presentations. This includes training roles, commercial roles, consulting roles, policy roles and some administrative roles.

The OUTLOOK test gauges both one’s basic knowledge of the mail programme ®MS Outlook, such as sending e‑mails and putting a recipient in copy, and advanced knowledge such as using the calendar, asking for a receipt.

In the OUTLOOK test, candidates should be able to name the function of an icon or element of ®Outlook. They must also be able to indicate which Outlook functions allow them to perform certain actions. The questions are asked using multiple-choice questions.

The OUTLOOK test is important for jobs that involve sending a lot of messages and scheduling appointments or tasks. This includes administrative and commercial jobs.

The ACCESS test assesses whether candidates have a good knowledge of the ®MS Access programme. This includes knowledge of tables (creating tables and formatting them correctly, etc.), knowledge of queries (creating queries, grouping data, using advanced filters, etc.), knowledge of forms and reports (creating forms or reports, drop-down menus, etc.) and knowledge of formulas.

In the ACCESS test, candidates should be able to name the function of an icon or element of ®Access. They must also be able to indicate which Access functions allow to perform certain actions. Questions are asked using multiple-choice questions.

The ACCESS test is important for functions that require the use of databases. This applies to most office functions: policy functions, accounting functions, research functions and IT functions.

The TOSA tests are practical exercises that evaluate one’s knowledge of computer programmes such as ®Microsoft Office, or knowledge of code languages such as C‑sharp, php and Java.

Candidates carry out the exercises directly in the software, in files or in the operating system. The tests evaluate the knowledge level of various Microsoft Office programmes (Tosa Word, Tosa Excel, Tosa PowerPoint and Tosa Outlook) using videos, images and practical exercises. The TOSA tests on programming languages require candidates to write code (in Java, php or C‑sharp) on certain topics, and each test ends with an algorithmic question. Finally, there is also a TOSA test on digital skills (TOSA DIGICOM) with questions on hardware and operating systems, software and documents, network and digital communication, digital security and browsers.

The TOSA tests are ideally suited to jobs that require working a lot with computer programmes. This applies to most office jobs: administrative, policy, research, commercial and IT jobs.

The Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) test gauges a person’s attitude towards food safety and their knowledge of the Belgian rules of the food safety system for preventing food contamination.

The HACCP ATT (‘attitude’) questionnaire measures to what extent candidates attach importance to hygiene rules concerning food safety. The HACCP KNL (‘knowledge’) test evaluates theoretical knowledge of hygiene rules related to food safety.

The HACCP ATT questionnaire and the HACCP KNL test are intended for employees in the food industry such as workers in factories and catering staff.

The PACK tests measure one’s accounting skills according to the Belgian Chart of Accounts (BRS).

The exercises in the PACK tests measure one’s ability to use accounting knowledge in performing some accounting activities. PACK A focuses on distinguishing between assets and liabilities and preparing an opening balance sheet. PACK B measures knowledge of beginning journal entries and journal enhancement. PACK AB is a combination of versions A and B.

The test is suitable for accounting functions in Belgium.

The TECH measures technical-mechanical understanding. Can your candidates apply knowledge of simple engineering principles in practice?

The questions appeal to common sense and require no specific technical prior knowledge. They involve illustrated questions on familiar physical laws such as principles from motion, hydrostatics, electronics and computer science.

The test can be used for a wide variety of technical jobs, such as metalworkers, engineers, forklift and truck drivers, architects, technicians, factory workers and production operators.
